Marilyn Pounds, originally from the Philadelphia, PA area, is now a resident of Brunswick County. Marilyn has won numerous awards for her watercolor and oil paintings. Her impressionistic floral landscapes, local attractions such as Charleston, Wilmington and Southport, and scenes from her travels reflect her love for gardening and the unique flavor of the places she visits. Marilyn uses plein air painting, and journaling to help compensate for the distortions of photo references.   Marilyn has her work displayed in several galleries and much of her work is in private collections.

She is a member of several of the local artist’s associations and is past and present President of the Waterway Art Association of Brunswick County, North Carolina.
