BARBARA FLERI
Working in transparent watercolor, Barbara turns to the seashore and coastal areas from Maine to Florida for much of her inspiration. She is best known for her sensitive rendering of atmospheric effects and her paintings convey a feeling of serenity.
As a native of Long Island, NY and a resident of Carolina Shoes, NC for the past eleven years, she has always been close to the moods and beauty of these changing conditions.
During her career she has been elected to membership in the American Artists Professional League, the Hudson Valley Art Association, the Knickerbocker Artists and is past-president of the Art League of Nassau County. Locally, she is a member of the Wilmington Art Association, the Associated Artists of Southport and the Waterway Art Association.
Among the numerous awards she has received for her work are the National League of American Pen Women Gold Medal of Excellence , the Grumbacher Silver Medal and the Council of American Artists Societies Award of Merit.
Ms. Fleri's work may be found in private and corporate collections including the National Bank, BB&T, Winthrop University Hospital, Sloan Kettering Hospital, and Laurence Rockefeller. She is affiliated with the Franklin Square Gallery, the Collectors Corner, the Calabash Gallery, the Wilmington Gallery and the Sunset River Marketplace.
